| NEIC is a leading partner within the regional technology support network. The NEIC operates innovation and technology suppoprt projects that assist North East individuals and SMEs (Small to Medium-sized Enterprises). The UK Government and EU often contribute to the cost of helping individuals and businesses in the North East of England to help businesses implement new and improved products and processes. NEIC will often have projects running that allow us to help North East businesses with the adoption of new technology in their products and processes. Since 1980, the NEIC has been helping local businesses with new idea development & evaluation, intellectual property, new product development, prototype production and helping businesses improve new production processes. The PRODEV project, currently being delivered by NEIC, is specifically intended to assist regional SME’s to adopt new products or new / improved production processes to raise productivity and hence improve competitive advantage.
